Dutchman David Labeij is releasing his second EP on Sirion, after having already remixed Mike Machine's "Joker" on Sirion in 2011.
The two original tracks bear David's unique signature and skillfully move between deep, minimalist house landscapes, dubtechno and hypnotic synthesizer elements.
What starts off as classic dubtechno with the obligatory distinctive dub chords develops into an interesting potpourri served up with piano elements and synths over the course of the track "Rhea".
The funk-inspired bassline gives the deep house track "Daphnis" a solid foundation. Various hypnotic synthesizer elements and dubby stabs unfold their full potential over the course of the song and give it the typical Labeij attitude.
The different remixes were created by Quenum and Masaya from the French-speaking part of Switzerland. They are complemented by fitting interpretations from Mike Machine from Zurich and Sirion's Nhoj Smada.
